Our community garden relies on the generosity and dedication of volunteers. VT students, scouts, master gardeners and naturalists, are just a few of the groups that work with us, and individuals are always welcome too! There are many different ways to help.

We have weekly workdays on Friday during the growing season that are open to anyone, and a few special volunteer events scheduled throughout the year. At our regular workday we usually take care of common areas at our gardens, including mulching, pruning, weeding, and maintaining fences and other infrastructure, but we occasionally help gardeners or work on special projects. First Fridays are Native Plant Workdays with Plant Southwest VA Natives. Regular Workdays will resume in March. Until then, check in on our social media, or look at the Sign-Up link for additional volunteer opportunities.

We use signup.com to coordinate volunteers, and everyone needs to sign up and agree to our waiver to volunteer. Whether you are an individual or a member of a group that already volunteers you can click on the button below to sign up for the current volunteer days available.

We will occasionally post descriptions for other specific volunteer positions below. Not everyone likes to get their hands dirty, so If you have a useful skill-set like graphic design, event planning, or small engine repair for example, you can reach out to us directly by contacting gardens@liveworkeatgrow.org. You can also email if you belong to a group looking for a place to lend a hand.
