The mission of Live, Work, Eat, Grow is to cultivate vibrant communities by fostering local food, farms and gardens, creating jobs and growing small businesses, supporting an affordable home for all, and gathering friends and neighbors.

Live Work Eat Grow, Inc. formed to support the revitalization of the historic Prices Fork elementary school, which now provides affordable housing, a commercial shared-use kitchen, Moon Hollow craft brewery, and the forthcoming El Ranchero restaurant. Live Work Eat Grow continues to manage Millstone Kitchen and its small business development and hunger relief programs. We also manage three community gardens including the Hale garden, the Wong Park garden and the new Garrison garden at Cedar Hill.

Throughout 2021 we have:

Responded to COVID-19 by serving more than 30,000 meals to low income, at-risk and elderly individuals through our Neighbors in Need program at Millstone Kitchen.

Established a new community garden, with 15 plots in the Cedar Hill neighborhood in Blacksburg.

Hosted summer camp for kids at the Hale Garden in collaboration with Parks and Recreation.

Provided garden plots to over 100 families

Next year, with your support, we plan to:
  • engage kids and adults in additional hands-on learning opportunities
  • support establishment of a native plant propagation center at the Hale Garden
  • offer start-up support to small business food entrepreneurs
  • provide meals to Neighbors in Need in collaboration with hunger relief organizations

None of our work would be possible without the generous support of our community. Your gift directly supports these programs and more.
