Funding Secured to Transform Former Prices Fork School into Food Facility

Federal funding will be used to transform a former Montgomery County school into a commercial kitchen, restaurant, and brewery.

A $150,000 grant will be used to transform the the old Prices Fork Elementary School into a “local food enterprise center,” according to a statement from U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine (D – Virginia).

The transformed space will include a commercial incubator kitchen, farm-to-table restaurant, a local craft brewery, a retail consignment market, and business incubation and support services, according to the statement from Kaine and Warner’s offices.

This grant was awarded through the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Business Development Grants Program.
