Starting in 2020, we launched a pilot meal program connecting low-income families, at-risk individuals, and homebound seniors with prepared meals made in our facility by small business members. Local and state level grant funds, as well as countless individual donors, have made the continuation of the program possible. Currently, we are supported by the American Rescue Plan Act through the Town of Blacksburg and the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program, which allow us to serve meals throughout Blacksburg and Eastern Montgomery.
Our catering partners HazelBea Catering, Thyme and Table, and Feast & Co, as well as our staff and volunteers, prepare and package fresh meals, which are especially important for those otherwise reliant on non-perishables.
