Starting in April 2020 Millstone Kitchen pivoted to respond to increased food insecurity in the midst of COVID-19. Thanks to an overwhelming response in donations from our local community we were able to launch a program connecting low-income families, at-risk individuals, and homebound seniors with prepared meals. Additional grant funding from the Department of Housing and Community Development allowed us to expand our program to serve hundreds in the New River Valley.

Our catering partners HazelBea Catering and On Site Culinary are preparing and packaging fresh meals, which are especially important for those otherwise reliant on non-perishables. This initiative also supports small catering businesses that faced critical business losses due to the pandemic.

We are working with these community partners to distribute meals:

We also accept checks made out to Live Work Eat Grow Inc. (Attn: Millstone Kitchen). Mail to us at 4237 Prices Fork Rd. Suite C, Blacksburg VA 24060. If you would like a Tax ID Number to claim this tax-deductible donation, please email us at millstonekitchen@liveworkeatgrow.org.
