PRICE’S FORK —Elizabeth Foster recalls when the old Blacksburg Middle School in 2011 was torn down over a period of several weeks.
“There are so many things that could have been done with that,” said Foster, who lived in Blacksburg for nearly four decades.
Now, she voices relief when she looks at the place she and her husband, Daniel Foster, moved into just before Christmas.
The Fosters were among the first to move into what were formerly classrooms at the old Price’s Fork Elementary School.
The building, located just outside Blacksburg on the road that bears the old school’s namesake, is going through a long-term renovation that most recently converted former classrooms into 16 two-bedroom apartments for adults age 55 years and up.
